The GameSystem tab is used to create profiles for different GameSystems, as well as to edit that profile.
The Creatures tab is used to add and edit Creature entries in the Creature Database, as well as adding them to Encounter Groups to be used in-play.
The Encounters tab is used to select from the available Encounter Groups, organizing them into an EncounterSet for use in-play, as well as editing the creatures within each encounter.
The Characters tab is used to access and edit Characters within each EncounterSet, whether PC or NPC.
Once a Creature Database is established, it is a simple process to add Creatures to an Encounter Group, edit the vital stats, and have an Encounter ready to run. Creating PC records is just as easy, although it usually involves more detailed notes - as deatailed as you want to get. By adding both the PC Encounter Group and their allies and opponents to an EncounterSet, you have quick access to all information about every character in the EncounterSet. Simply select a character to see its skills, equipment and combat stats. You can quickly switch between characters, allowing you to quickly access and edit stats whether editing a character or applying damage in the thick of combat.
Every Character and Creature entry can have both an Image and a File of any type associated with it (like all DA records, see the Other Features section for details). The Image can be loaded in the DA Main Image Window for quick recognition, while the File can point to any registered file-type or program on your computer; such as a dedicated Character Generator for your current GameSystem.
As a player, the DA Encounter Manager allows you to organize and edit your Characters, eliminating the folders full of eraser-scared character sheets and notes that tend to build up over the course of many campaigns. Of course, many players still prefer to have a paper hard-copy (or don't have access to - or don't like to use - laptops at the gaming table), so DA allows registered users to print characters or even save to RTF format for editing in your prefered word processor before printing.
