MJHK Studios is proud to announce the (pre-) release of a new computer aid for table top Role-Playing Games. "DA: The Role Player's Digital Assistant" is a game-system independent toolset designed to enhance your role-playing experience.

DA is a useful tool for both gamemasters and players, as well as authors, writers, PBEM'ers, or anyone looking for a convienient means of organizing ideas and material related to the creation of a story. Follow the links above or take the Feature Tour below to see what DA has to offer. Remember to bookmark this page and check back often for news and updates.

N E W S :

02/25/04: We have uploaded an update to version 0.7.8(Beta) in the Downloads section. This update allows you to resize DA. DA will run at a resulution of 800x600 or greater, but we recommend using at least 1024x768 (the default program size). You can also hide the toolbar now, to add a little extra space to the notebooks. The other features that we have been working on are not quite ready yet, but we will try to finish them up soon.

If you are updating from version 0.7.4 or earlier, you will have to wait for DA to update the database to run, but you should notice a significant improvement in Library performance, especially with large Archives such as the D20 SRD (available in the Material Downloads section).

We were almost ready to upload a partial D20 3.5 SRD when wizards released a revised version. If there are enough requests, I could upload the partial version (it includes all classes, races, skills, feats, equipment, spells, and rules from the older version, but not magic items, monsters, or psionics). Otherwise we will update to the current SRD before uploading it. Contact Us.

Today's random image: Another one from my friend Dave Silva. I'd like to congratulate him on his new job with McFarlane Toys. I've been told that his first toy line should be out in the next year, but that's all I can say right now...

(We're looking for more volunteer artists who want to showcase some work on our front page. We will gladly provide a link to your gallery or web page in return for lending us a "Random Image" to be used here temporarily. Legal terms will be posted or sent via email, but expect them to be similar to our hosted material policy; it's yours and it stays yours. Contact Us)

07/21/03: We have uploaded an update to version 0.7.7(Beta) in the Downloads section. This update is primarily a bug fix (including a glitch in the Library Import routine) and general progress. Most of the areas that we have been working on are not yet ready for release, such as revising the plug-ins code to be more flexible. I will try to schedule regular updates to show that we are still working, preferably with more visible progress than this one.

If you are updating from version 0.7.4 or earlier, you will have to wait for DA to update the database to run, but you should notice a significant improvement in Library performance, especially with large Archives such as the D20 SRD (available in the Material Downloads section).

We have decided to delay work on the Encounter Manager D20 creatures until after we enter the 3.5 SRD. We will try to have that up soon, and we will leave the original SRD up for those who opt not to "upgrade" to the new version of D&D. If anyone is willing to help out with source material, please Contact Us.

06/11/03: We have uploaded an update to version 0.7.6(Beta) in the Downloads section. This update resolves a few issues with the Encounter Manager, including enabling the Print feature for both Creatures and Characters.

If you are updating from version 0.7.4 or earlier, you will have to wait for DA to update the database to run, but you should notice a significant improvement in Library performance, especially with large Archives such as the D20 SRD (available in the Material Downloads section).

Also, we have finally settled on a format for D20 Creatures in the Encounter Manager. As soon as we have finished updating enough Creatures to be worth posting, we will add it to the Material Downloads section. Check back soon.

05/17/03: We have uploaded an update to version 0.7.5(Beta) in the Downloads section. Sorry this one took so long, there was alot of background work to be done and real life got in the way for a few weeks. This update optimizes the Export routine and the Library, as well as incorporating the Database Update Utility into DA (to keep previous Exports from becoming obsolete) and the often requested "Back Button" for the Library (actually labeled "< Previous", since there is alread a "< Back" button for the SeeAlso tab).

When you first start DA after the update, you will have to wait for the database update to run, but you should notice a significant improvement in Library performance, especially with large Archives such as the D20 SRD (available in the Material Downloads section).
